Special Coaching Programs

Consider whether one of these no-cost options
can help you move forward...

From the desk of: Adele Sommers, Ph.D.

Dear Colleague,

Chess pieces on a boardI see so many people struggling to make their next move in today’s sluggish economy. They’re frankly stymied about which steps to take! Even those with plenty of successes under their belts feel unable to gain traction because of current conditions. It’s creating a circular dilemma, and discouraging a lot of folks from making headway.

So, let’s break the cycle together! I’ve been so fortunate in having the ability to overcome all kinds of adversity. I feel it’s time to for me to step up my game, pay it all forward, and expand the various ways in which I try so hard to help my subscribers, clients, colleagues, and community. How can I help you?

Introducing My New Complimentary Coaching Programs...

If you’re wrestling with a project idea, a strategic planning challenge, a training project, or an organizational dilemma; or if you're designing a Web site or putting together a slide presentation, for example, there are two ways you can receive my help at no cost — if it’s something for which I’m able to offer assistance.

One program I refer to as “Just in Time” Complimentary Coaching. The other program I’ve named, “A Day with Adele” Treasure Hunt Contest. With both approaches, my goal is to help you break through whatever logjam you're facing and make progress toward success!

For either, you’ll start off by taking my business “Treasure Hunt.” What is that?

Treasure chest on the sandIt's a fun, adventure-based self-assessment that begins with a three-minute Flash video overview. You’ll then proceed to take a multi-part quiz to evaluate your success in four key areas:

1) Meetings & Decision Making
2) Productivity & Effectiveness
3) Project & Risk Management, and
4) Product & Service Value

Program #1: “Just-in-Time” Complimentary Coaching

With this option, you can receive one hour of free coaching per month, up to a total of four hours. The sessions would typically occur via Web meetings, for which you would need only a computer and phone (or a USB headset). You won’t need to buy any software or use a Webcam of any kind. The Web meetings can be recorded so that afterward, you’ll receive a link to the recording that you can view as many times as you wish.

The value of this hourly “Just-in-Time” Coaching program is $199 per session. That’s what I would normally charge for one hour of consulting time that includes follow-up, such as sending you summary points and a recording link via e-mail.

The kinds of things I typically CAN assist you with in an hour include:

• Reviewing and critiquing your Web site, presentation, or marketing materials
• Providing a sounding board for your business concept or marketing approach
• Offering suggestions for your solo-professional or business strategic planning
• Diagnosing problems with meetings, productivity, projects, and customers

The kinds of things I CAN'T assist you with in an hour include:

• Hands-on information-design projects
• Developing strategic plans or business models
• Taking you or your staff through a facilitated exercise
• Providing in-depth training of any kind

If you’re not sure whether your needs are within scope, please go ahead and submit an application, and then I can determine what’s feasible!

To apply for the “Just-in-Time” Complimentary Coaching program, please do the following:

1) Take at least one of the four self-assessments in the Treasure Hunt Quiz, and be sure to download the related Treasure Hunt “clues.”

2) Complete the confidential online application, which opens in a separate window. (Please note that you’ll enter some information using your “clues.”)

Program #2: “A Day with Adele” Treasure Hunt Contest

Whether or not you’ve been through one of my “Just-in-Time” hour-long coaching sessions, you can enter the “A Day with Adele” Treasure Hunt Contest for a full day (8 hours) of my consulting time at no cost, which is a $1,600 value.

A new contest will be announced every few months, and you must apply to enter each one. Initially, winners will be selected based on merit — which pertains to the quality and thoughtfulness of the answers you provide in your application. You must submit your application before the highlighted date shown below:

The next winning entry will be selected on December 31, 2012

If you’re selected as a winner, we could arrange your consulting time to occur all at once, or in stages. As to where and how it occurs, it could take place locally at your business site (in the San Luis Obispo area of the California Central Coast), or it could occur via a series of Web meetings, as explained above. All scheduling is subject to my availability, and may require some lead time to arrange.

NOTE: Because we may need to discuss ahead of time what you’d like to do and make necessary arrangements, any preparation and anticipated follow-up will be counted and subtracted from the total. This means that the remaining net time is what we could apply directly to your particular consulting need.

To apply for the “A Day with Adele” Treasure Hunt Contest, please do the following:

1) Take all four of the self-assessments in the Treasure Hunt Quiz, below, and be sure to download all four of the related sets of Treasure Hunt “clues.”

2) Complete the confidential online application, which opens in a separate window. (Please note that you’ll enter some information using your “clues.”)

For Either Program, Start by Taking the Treasure Hunt Quiz!

This unique self-assessment starts off with a compelling, 3-minute video adventure, and then invites you to take a multi-part quiz about your organization’s success in four key areas. There are actually four separate assessments, one for each major topic. At the end of each quiz, look for your score and your “clues,” which indicate how well you are (or your organization is) doing in that area!

Here’s What Other Clients Have Had to Say...

Previous client engagements have produced comments like these:

“I recently had the pleasure of engaging Adele in a day-long planning session...

“...around our company’s strategy and direction. What I got was more than I had expected, in that she was able to help me see and validate trends in our shifting marketscape that I could then monetize.”

“For example, Adele takes a unique approach to what she calls ‘Blue Ocean Strategizing’ where she is able to facilitate a discussion to identify relevant industry trends, and then combines her business perspective with strategic planning to craft a unique and creative business approach. I look forward to working with her again and again.”

— Mike Agron, Managing Principal & Executive Webinar Producer at WebAttract, LLC

“Adele is one of those rare consultants who is
inspirational to work with...

“...and who approaches her projects with a joyous and infectious enthusiasm. Her consulting interests are wide-ranging and encompass both top-down and bottom-up processes and strategies. She enjoys looking at business opportunities from all angles — from assessing their high-level potential to ‘reality-checking’ whether they are truly feasible. Adele is a stickler for thoroughly vetting a range of options, as well as uncovering and strengthening the weak areas in business models.

“In the technology arena, she’s a strong advocate for building brand loyalty. To that end, I've observed her passion for using interface analysis and design skills to make Web sites and software usable, engaging, and empowering.

“Last but not least, the analysis projects I’ve seen her complete consistently emphasize simple, elegant, and practical solutions.”

— Bruce Klickstein, VP Business Development, Dozuki.com

“Adele is an amazing coach...

“...she is dedicated, imaginative, and has great rapport with her clients. Her creative exercises stimulate thought and growth, and really clear the cobwebs away from your mind.

“Her enthusiastic and expert presentations and ancillary materials are a terrific inspiration. I would unhesitatingly recommend her services.”

— Sonsie Conroy, Realtor®
